Akilah Evans-Pigford’s love of sports in general was cultivated as a young girl growing up in urban Philadelphia. She remembers falling in love with football when she was getting an autograph from Harold Carmichael , Former Wide Receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles.
She stumbled across the AFL League by chance when she heard about Philadelphia Soul’s Junior Football Academy and her son became a member. The love for the organization and arena football in general became apparent and instant with her son’s participation in the Junior Football Academy but also the entire family’s ability to still enjoy the game of football off season. It also never hurts that the game of play is dynamic, and the players are impactful and hard working on the field and the organization ensures your experience is an enjoyable one.

Richard fell in love with Arena Football in middle school after buying the Arena Football video game for the original Xbox, which he still plays today. The one AFL game he went to was a 92-42 victory for the Philadelphia Soul over the Georgia Force in 2012, the second most points scored in an AFL game. He’s been a fan of football all his life as he was the football equipment manager during college while at Gardner-Webb University. While not writing about uniforms or random stats, Richard is the Athletics Video Assistant at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.
